French born photographer, stylist, art director and designer Maripol moved to New York aged 19 in 1977 where she quickly established herself as a luminary of the underground scene, hanging out with the likes of Andy Warhol, Debbie Harry and Jean-Michel Basquiat.
In her remarkable career she worked on videos for the likes of Cher, Elton John, D’Angelo and most famously, Madonna, who she introduced to the word in a flurry of lace and sex in Like a Virgin.
